Author of the award-winning book Pursue Your Spark.
If you’ve been wondering, “What happened to me?”—I understand.
Maybe you used to exercise regularly, have more energy, and feel pretty good about yourself.
Now you’re tired. You keep putting yourself last. And even though your life may look perfectly fine from the outside, you don’t quite feel like you anymore.
I’m Heike Yates, and for more than 40 years, I’ve helped women find their way forward when they feel stuck in exactly this place.
You Know What to Do. So Why Is It So Hard to Do It?
You know exercise would help. You know you feel better when you eat well, get enough sleep, and make time for yourself.
But knowing isn’t the problem.
Somehow, you’ve stopped doing the things that used to make you feel good. You tell yourself you’ll get back to it next week. Then another week passes.
Maybe you’re frustrated with your body. Maybe your confidence has taken a hit. Maybe you’re saying no to things you used to enjoy because you don’t have the energy—or simply don’t feel comfortable being seen.
And after a while, it’s easy to start wondering whether you’re the problem.
I know what it’s like when life changes the rules.
At one point, I was a single mom raising two kids on $300 a month, working long hours, and trying to hold everything together.
Fitness became my lifeline—what helped me feel strong, resilient, and hopeful when life felt heavy.
What began as my own way forward became my life’s work. For more than 40 years, I’ve helped women build strength, energy, and confidence through fitness, nutrition, and mindset strategies that work in real life.
That work eventually became Pursue Your Spark—my award-winning guide for women who are ready to stop blaming themselves, stop starting over, and find their way forward.
Over the past 40+ years, that lifeline became my mission. I’ve helped thousands of midlife women break the start-over cycle and find an approach that finally works for their body and their life. That work is what led me to write Pursue Your Spark, now an award-winning guide for midlife women ready to move forward again.
Here’s what I believe:
- Midlife isn’t a decline — it’s your turning point.
- You don’t need to become a “new you.” You need an approach that works for the woman you are now.
- Taking care of yourself shouldn’t require extremes, guilt, or starting over every Monday.
- With the right support, you can feel strong, confident, energized, and connected to yourself again.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone.
If some of this sounds a little too familiar, let’s talk.
The free 30-minute Spark Breakthrough Call is a chance to tell me what’s been going on, where you’re feeling stuck, and what you’d like to feel different.
Together, we’ll identify one realistic next step that can help you move forward.
Outside of the studio…
I love the outdoors, and that’s where you will find me most of the time.
I love being a grandma to Lyla and Oliver, who teach me about the wonders of their life.
I have been known to say, “Exercise is good for you.” (Okay…I say it a lot).
Eating healthy is essential to me, but I keep my ingredients to around 10 for each dish 😉
My positivity and energy are contagious.
